Manfrotto MB MA-BP-R Advanced Rear Backpack (Black)
This is a very nice and high quality back-pack. However, these are the main points I'd like to make about the design quality:
- The outermost side pouches may not fit a water bottle once the zippered side pouches have been filled up.
- The webbing for the backpack and hip straps are barely an inch wide but made of very high-quality materials.
- The design is very discreet, and what I especially like is that the zippered camera enclosure is not immediately obvious to the casual thief.
- The rain cover came stuffed inside the top pocket's mesh pouch, and takes up roughly 20% of its volume if left there. It almost seems as if the rain cover was an afterthought. Contrast this to the LowePro Photo Hatchback which has a dedicated stuff pocket underneath the camera compartment. Again, this reeks of cost-cutting.
- The tripod pocket is very nice, but it does intrude very slightly into the main compartments. It has a sewn-in drawstring pouch which holds my a compact tripod nicely, bigger tripods will be difficult to stuff into this pocket.
- There are almost no sewn-in loops for accessories on the outside, which really makes it stealthy. It also compromises the versatility. This is one of my favorite features on the swiss gear backpacks. Wish there were atleast a couple of loops to attach carabiners to.
